Where? Mostly in the Fenway area; includes Emerson College, which is nearby.

Can you borrow books? Yes, from most FLC libraries with a valid Suffolk ID.

You can use the extensive research collection.

BPL also provides in-library and "at home" access (with a current BPL library card) to several electronic databases not provided by the Sawyer Library including:

  • MLA International Bibliography
  • Poem Finder and Story Finder
  • PAIS International
  • America: History and Life
  • Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection

Where?  Main branch is in Copley Square; also, small West End Branch, across from the Ridgeway Building on Cambridge Street. 

Can you borrow books?  Yes, by getting a library card by showing a Massachusetts ID.

Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners

You can search the library catalogs of many academic and public libraries in Massachusetts.

Where? All over Massachusetts.

You may or may not be able to borrow books, but will be able to use them at the library.

Boston Library Consortium

You can search the library catalogs for books and periodical titles.

Where? Large academic libraries, mostly in the Boston area, plus the Boston Public Library.

You will not be able to borrow books from most of these libraries, but will be able to use them at the library. Exceptions are the University of Massachusetts at Boston, which is part of the Fenway Library Consortium (see listing above) and the Boston Public Library, from which you can get a BPL card by showing a Massachusetts ID.
