The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) would like to extend an invitation to all Suffolk teachers to join our Spring semester book groups.

The goal of the Book Group is to utilize selected reading materials to facilitate dialogue, reflection, and ideas for teaching.  Discussions focus primarily on our roles and responsibilities as educators and as members of the university community.

All books will be provided by the CTE free of charge to participants.  There are two ways to participate.

(1) Donna Qualters from the CTE is facilitating a group using Generation Me by Jean M. Twenge, Ph.D. This engaging, controversial book details the many moods of today’s young adults through vivid anecdotes and analysis of the largest inter-generational research study ever conducted.

(2) If you have a favorite teaching and learning book you’d like to read with a group of colleagues the CTE will purchase the books and organize the group for you.

The group meets at the Center for Teaching Excellence approximately 3-4 times during the semester and is scheduled at a time convenient for members.

If you’re interested in joining a group or starting your own or have additional questions, please contact Christina DiRico at 617-573-8222 or via e-mail at cdiricio@suffolk.edu
