• Coping with College

Most students who enter Suffolk University are immediately confronted with a range of opportunities and challenges.  Some are able to use positive coping skills.  Others are hindered by less developed interpersonal skills and/or vulnerabilities to depression, eating disorders, stress, and alcohol dependence.

In addition, some college students are confronted with unexpected crises or personal losses which can disrupt their academic endeavors. A crisis may be personal, such as a death or the loss of a relationship, or community-wide, such as a fire on campus. The links below and to the left will provide resources to help in understanding or dealing with such traumatic events.
