Dental Insurance

Delta Dental of Massachusetts

All employees who are regularly scheduled to work 24 or more hours per week and all faculty who are at least half time, are eligible for membership in one of the University’s Dental Insurance Plans; benefits are available for spouses, same sex domestic partners and dependent children. The University offers two plans - Delta Premier or Delta Care.

Delta Premier benefits are most comprehensive when members use a participating dentist. The plan provides full coverage for preventive and diagnostic services, 80% coverage for restorative services, and 50% for major services (i.e. crowns, inlays, and bridges) up to a calendar year maximum of $1200 per person. There is a $50 per individual, $150 per family calendar year deductible.

Employees who choose Delta Care select their Primary Care Dentist from the network. Most preventive and diagnostic services are covered at 100%. Other dental services require co-payments that the member pays directly to the dentist. Out-of-pocket costs are predictable because they are based on a fixed co-payment schedule. There are no annual maximums or deductibles in the Delta Care plan.
