Call 617.573.8260 to schedule an appointment. All students will be seen free of charge.
Scheduling an appointment is the way to go for most issues like: Physical exams; immunizations; regular check-ups; follow-up visits; questions; prescription refills; referral requests; ongoing or non-urgent medical issues. You can schedule a time that is most convenient for you. Be sure to let the receptionist know why you need an appointment, and if you have more than one need or request, so that sufficient time can be allotted to address your issue(s). Failure to schedule the proper amount of time may require you to schedule another appointment.
Please bring your Health Insurance card with you (you should carry it with you at all times) to your appointment. If it is determined that you need lab work (like a throat culture or blood tests), the lab will bill your insurance. Without the card, the lab will send the bill to you and you will either have to pay the bill or resolve the issue between the lab and the insurance company on your own.
Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. – Noon and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
During these hours a clinician is available to evaluate urgent matters. Patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Often, so many people request to be seen during these times that all the available slots in a session are taken within 15 minutes of the start of a session. Therefore, it is best to arrive as close to the beginning of each session as possible.
What do we mean by “urgent”? A good rule for an appropriate urgent care walk-in visit is that you are feeling ill enough to miss class or work. Alternatively, you may have an issue that is time sensitive: e.g. you need emergency contraception or you are currently bleeding.
It is always a good idea to call ahead to see if the session is full or cancelled. Please understand that we may need to prioritize patients according to severity, so that someone who arrives after you may need to be seen before you.
If Health Services is closed and you feel you need to be seen immediately, go to a local hospital or call University Police (if you are on campus) at 617-573-8111 or if off campus call 911.
