In 1906, Roland E. Brown was a machinist with a wild ambition. By 1908, he was a lawyer with wide-open prospects—the first Suffolk student to pass the bar.
In the century since, Suffolk has helped write the same story many times over, with thousands of different heroes: people who sought the same rigorous, inspiring practicality of a Suffolk education as a way to transform their lives. Our graduates have risen to leadership in fields from law and business to public service, science, and the arts, in Massachusetts and around the globe. We have helped promising young people find a purpose—and in the end, we have prepared them to change the world for the better.
