If you choose one of the following groupings you will be enrolled with the same classmates in each linked Seminar:
SF 108A MW 2:30-3:45 Sandberg
ENG 101U MW 1:00-2:15 Trabold
SU 101AA M 9:30-10:45 TBA
SF 126A M 1:00-3:45 Chambers
ENG 101E MWF 10:00-10:50 Miller, R
SU 101JJ W 1:00-2:15 TBA
For example, by registering for SF 126A, The Boston Theatre Scene: The Inside Experience you are also simultaneously registered for both your required English 101 course, and another course: SU 101--a one credit course designed to enhance your first year experience and to ensure a successful transition to Suffolk University and our unique urban environment. Enrolling in all three of these courses (SF 132, Engl 101, and SU 101) allows you to be part of a semester-long learning community with your classmates from your Seminar for Freshmen course. In other words, you will have many of the same classmates in your English 101 and SU 101 classes that you have in your SF 126 class. The goal behind linking these classes and working with the same classmates in different courses is to make your transition to Suffolk more meaningful and familiar.
SU101 is a one-credit course that meets once a week. Your particular section is SU 101 JJ, which meets on Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm. You will not be charged for this extra credit. As long as a student’s semester registration does not exceed 17 credits, no extra charges on top of full-time tuition are incurred. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. You may drop the one credit SU 101 course and remain in SF 126A if you wish. We ask that you attend at least the first meeting of SU 101 before making a final decision. If you choose to remove SU 101 from your schedule, you should do so by the end of the drop/add period.
Your required first year English course is English 101-E, which meets Mon/Wed from 10:00-10:50am. Do not remove this course from your schedule as it is required for graduation and must be passed to enroll in your required English 102 class this upcoming Spring semester.
