Department of Biology

Biology majors may obtain a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology by specializing in one of the following programs:  

• Biotechnology
• Marine Science
• Or by following more flexible course offerings

To earn a bachelor’s degree in Biology requires the satisfactory completion of:

• Prescribed courses in the major and related electives with a minimum grade point average 2.0.
• General requirements in the College of Arts and Sciences
• Free electives

Transfer students wishing to major in Biology must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (excluding laboratories and seminar) in Biology at Suffolk University with a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

An Evening Division student must plan a course of studies with the Chairperson of the Department as few Biology courses are offered in the evening.
