LGBT History Month begins on October 1. On each day of the month, a video and biography of another LGBT icon will become available.

Thirty-one LGBT leaders were selected for this display, which is presented by Equality Forum. Equality Forum solicited state, national and international leaders for nominations. The nominees comprised individuals, living or dead, who have distinguished themselves within their field of endeavor, as national heroes, or in the LGBT civil rights movement.
