All new students entering Suffolk University are invited and expected to participate in the ceremony. Family and friends are also invited to attend to witness this time honored academic tradition. Reply cards were included with invitations sent in June. Please return this card to indicate attendance. Seating is limited so we must receive reply cards for participating students, as well as their guests, by Wednesday, August 20th.

We request that all guests are seated by 2:15 p.m. on the day of Convocation.
back to top^Since first-year students are required to participate in the Orientation events that precede Convocation, students will arrive at Sargent Hall (in the Suffolk University Law School building) as a group escorted by Orientation staff (specific information about these earlier activities has been mailed directly to the students). When students arrive at Sargent Hall, they will be directed to a gathering area where they will robe and line up for their processional to the Temple. Family members should arrive at the Temple and will be ushered to upper level seating areas for best views of the ceremony.
The students process from Sargent Hall and into the Temple followed by their Faculty, senior Administrative Staff, and President. There will be a welcome address and remarks made by University President, David J. Sargent. Both Academic Deans will lead the new students through the academic pledge, officially marking their entrance into Suffolk University. The ceremony is followed by a gala reception held on the Mezzanine Level of the Omni Parker House Hotel (directly next door to Tremont Temple). We ask that parents and guests proceed directly to the reception immediately after Convocation and join their daughter/son once s/he arrives. Light refreshments will be provided at the reception.
The reception will also be a good opportunity to informally meet some of the faculty and staff that will be working closely with new students throughout their time at Suffolk University.
