The MPA/Health Program is offered by the Public Management Department in collaboration with the Healthcare Department. This specialized MPA degree prepares government and nonprofit leaders and managers for roles in health-related public policy development, community-based program and project management and advocacy, and social change, within the context of the dynamic health care environment. The core and elective courses provide students with the opportunity to learn about various aspects of public management, including policy analysis and program evaluation, quantitative analysis, human resources management, organizational effectiveness, and leadership. Students also explore several aspects of healthcare systems and administration, including the organization and financing of healthcare delivery, accounting and financial management, healthcare policy, performance improvement and patient safety, the legal environment of healthcare, and strategic management.
