As a full-time MBA student, you have the opportunity to complete an internship for academic credit. An internship is not required but many find this an excellent way to enhance their resume. The internship for academic credit accounts for a three-credit elective in your program of study.
The MBA EDGE Program and Suffolk University’s Career Services Office help prepare students as they seek internships. Resume, cover letter writing and interview skills workshops are popular options. Career Services will also work one-on-one in interview simulations, videotaping the experience to insure you put your best professional self forward as you meet with potential employers.
Internships for academic credit require a faculty mentor and corporate sponsor for a specific project in a Boston-based company, working approximately one day per week. They may or may not be paid.
Suffolk University’s Career Services Office works with Suffolk MBAs to find co-op opportunities. Co-ops may or may not have a financial stipend, are not for academic credit and, for example, can be full-time in the summer months.
All internships for academic-credit and co-op opportunities require resumes, an interview, and are often competitive.
