• Michael Barretti Bio

Michael Barretti is the Director of the Institute for Executive Education and Life-Long Learning and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing. The Institute was created to unify leadership of the University’s executive-level education programs.  The Executive MBA is the flagship of the Institute, and Professor Barretti serves as its Academic Director.  He has over 35 years of domestic and international business experience related to marketing, strategic planning, and new business development. Barretti’s professional career was paralleled by 22 years of active and reserve service as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, from which he retired in 1987. He holds an MBA from the Suffolk University, earned in the Executive MBA Program, and also earned a BBA from St. Johns University in New York.

Professor Barretti has published and presented articles on topics of contemporary interest in executive education, serves as a case reviewer for Harvard Business School Publishing, is the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Teaching (2001) the Dean’s Award for Service (2003) the Sawyer Business School Graduate Student Association’s honor as Professor of the Year (2001) and has served on several faculty committees and task forces.
In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities at Suffolk, Professor Barretti maintains business interests in the medical devices industry, and is the holder of patents in the field of laser surgery. He current serves on the board of directors of AMEX listed CardioTech International, and on the board of World Boston, an internationally recognized organization developed to promote international exchange and understanding.
