An ePortfolio is an online collection of your academic, professional and personal information. It is used to demonstrate your skills and accomplishments to a diverse audience including friends, faculty and employers. The ePortfolio may include text-based material, graphics, audio, video or other multimedia elements.
The ePortfolio encourages personal reflection and enhances the exchange of ideas and feedback. It encourages you to become more actively involved in the planning of your own educational and professional goals. Other benefits include aiding in the development of writing and communication skills, assisting with career preparation, demonstrating knowledge gained outside of the academic setting, and sharing examples of your work with advisors, faculty or potential employers.
Packaging this information in electronic format allows you to build your online presence and make use of the myriad of networking possibilities that are available to you over the internet.
At present, only undergraduates of the Sawyer Business School are provided with the resources necessary to create an ePortfolio. Every student is allocated an account on Suffolk’s online learning platform. These accounts are given space to store documents and other electronic material. See policies that restrict the types of material that a student is allowed to store on the university platform.
