The Goal

The primary mission of the Suffolk University Marketing Department is to educate and serve the diverse needs of our constituency, which includes undergraduate and graduate business students, faculty, and the business community. Our principal goal is to prepare our students for successful career development and advancement in the marketing discipline, by creating an environment for scholarly pursuit and excellence through a curriculum and course content which challenges them to grow intellectually, to achieve, and to lead.

Teaching Excellence

The marketing department delivers high quality instruction to undergraduate and graduate students through faculty commitment to teaching excellence, basic and applied scholarship, and professional service.

This is accomplished by providing:

Up-to-Date

  • Continuous development of up-to-date curricula focusing on domestic and international markets
  • Honors marketing classes
  • Nationally recognized on-line programs and courses
  • Mentoring activities

Opportunities

  • Opportunities to create relationships with the Boston business community via internships, marketing club activities, and the Derek Coward Lecture series. 

Support

In order to consistently meet the changing needs of our constituencies, the marketing department recognizes and is committed to:

  • Providing a supportive environment for all staff, faculty, and students
  • Offering an ethical and multicultural approach to all educational activities
  • Assisting faculty members in efforts to attain teaching excellence
  • Supporting faculty research for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings as a means to enrich classroom performance and contribute to the recognition of Suffolk University
