Are these courses open to online students or to students who are based on a campus other than the Boston campus?

Costs

How much does a seminar cost?

Total cost for Global Seminar is tuition for a three credit course plus a program fee that covers the expense incurred by travel.  Generally, the following items are included in the program fee:  airfare, tourist class hotel accommodations, ground transportation, business and cultural programming, and many meals.  The items covered by the program fee can vary so be sure to check individual global seminar listings to ascertain what is included.  (Some courses may not include airfare.)

How does the payment process work?

Upon acceptance of your pre-registration application and the $500 nonrefundable deposit, the Global Seminar Program Office will deposit this amount in your student account and send your information to the registrar for registration. Upon entry into the school’s registration system your student account will automatically billed the total program fee, so there will be two entries for the program fee.  You will be billed the total program fee and you will be separately credited the $500 deposit.  The remaining program fee is due according to the tuition schedule published by student accounts.

What methods of payment can I use to pay the program fee?

To pay the non-refundable deposit, you must pay by check or money order.  The Global Seminar office is unable to take credit card payments for the deposit. The remaining amount of your program fee, once submitted to student accounts for collection, can be paid in any manner acceptable to the student accounts office.

How much additional money can I expect to spend while traveling?

This amount can vary widely depending on your personal tastes.  Many of your evenings will normally be free to explore.

Can the program fee be paid with financial aid or my loan?

You will need to consult directly with the Financial Aid office to determine the options available to you.  The program fee can normally be paid with your loan.  McDonnell Scholarships may be available to participating undergraduate students.  Please check for updated information on the website.
