Suffolk University and Dean College — Partnering for Your Success

Suffolk University and Dean College joined in a unique collaboration. You may now earn a Suffolk University bachelor’s degree entirely at Dean in Franklin, Massachusetts, or add courses at Suffolk’s Boston campus.

The Dean program is not a satellite campus, but two full-service established institutions coming together to provide student-centered education.

Enjoy the extensive resources of a major urban university, plus the convenience and charm of an idyllic suburban campus.

  • Suffolk is in the heart of Boston on Beacon Hill.
  • Dean’s Franklin location is easily accessible from Interstates 495 and 95, the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) and the MBTA commuter rail (Franklin/Dean College station).
  • The program is designed to provide pathway to a 4-year degree to Dean College students and graduates with the convenience of Dean’s location in Franklin.

Students can pursue one of six majors on the Dean College campus:

    • Dean and Suffolk are committed to helping you make a seamless transition from Dean’s two-year associate degree programs to Suffolk’s bachelor’s degree programs
    • Advisors will lead you through the process step by step, helping you with admissions and appropriate course waivers
    • Students with associate degrees or credits from other institutions are also welcome

    World-class Faculty

    • All bachelor’s degree courses at Suffolk/Dean are taught by highly-qualified faculty members from Suffolk’s Sawyer Business School and College of Arts and Sciences
    • In small classes, you will work closely with your professors to make the most of your college experience

    Expand your experiences

    The resources of both Suffolk and Dean are available to all students in the program.

    • Activities — Suffolk/Dean students may take part in all student clubs and organizations at Suffolk or Dean
    • Athletics — Suffolk/Dean juniors and seniors may participate in Suffolk’s Division III athletic programs
    • Co-ops & Internships — Suffolk/Dean students may apply for co-op and internship positions through Suffolk’s Career Services and Cooperative Education Office, which has access to exciting opportunities in the business, legal, finance, government, health, education and high-tech sectors in Boston and beyond
    • Study Abroad — Suffolk/Dean students may study abroad at one of Suffolk’s international campuses in Madrid, Spain, or Senegal, West Africa. For your convenience both Suffolk and Dean are dedicated to a program that works for student
    • Financial Aid — Financial aid is available to all qualified students, with need-based and merit-based grants, loans and work-study; some special transfer scholarships are available
    • Housing — On-campus housing is available to Suffolk students in Dean College residence halls
    • Opportunities — Suffolk students are encouraged to pursue community advisor positions to develop or enhance their leadership skills; these positions provide a weekly stipend

    • Application Process —  Dean College students applying for admission to the Suffolk/Dean program may apply in the following ways:
      • Joint Admission
      • The simplified Suffolk/Dean application is available through the Suffolk University office on the Dean campus
        • No essay is required for students with 2.5 GPA or higher
        • International students are required to complete additional financial documents
      • Dean students can sign a release which allows their transcript to be released directly to Suffolk University.
