Citizens or permanent residents of the US currently living outside of the United States are welcome to apply to Suffolk University. Please refer to the appropriate resources below for more information about your situation.

Applying to Undergraduate Programs

  • Application: Please apply to Suffolk University in Boston using an undergraduate application form. On this form, please indicate that you are a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • TOEFL: Even if you are a US citizen, applicants whose primary language is not English must be able to demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing English. To do so, applicants are expected to submit official TOEFL or ELPT scores with their application materials.
  • Financial Aid: As a US citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible for a variety of financial assistance (possibly including federal and state loans).
  • Other Services: For other services and programs available to you as a Suffolk University student, please refer to the Dean of Students and Offices & Services web pages.

Applying to Graduate Programs

  • Application: Please apply to Suffolk University in Boston using the appropriate graduate application form or Law School application form. On these forms, please indicate that you are a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • TOEFL: This requirement can be waived for international graduate applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States or who hold a baccalaureate degree from a US college or university.
  • Financial Aid: As a US citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible for a variety of financial assistance (possibly including federal and state loans). International students are eligible for institutional funds on a merit basis in the Sawyer Business School. In the College of Arts and Sciences, international students should contact the individual departments.
