Prof. Andrea Liese is a political scientist and professor at the Institute of Social Sciences, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Germany). During the 2006-2007 academic year she conducted research at Harvard University on the relations of the United Nations and non-state actors. Drawing on different strands of organizational theory and international relations, her project conceptualizes how and explains why different organizations have opened up towards companies, foundations and civil society organizations and included them in awareness raising, standard setting and implementation.
